The Tier 1 Junior B Shamrocks improved their record to 6-0 Saturday with a 9-6 victory over the visiting Coquitlam Adanacs at the Q Center.

Starting goaltenders were Tristan Lomas for the visitors and Angus Snow for the green and white.  It was Victoria getting off to a strong start, scoring the first 3 goals of the game.  Ayden McDonald opened the scoring just 21 seconds in and Jacob Obee made it 2-0 at 2:59 on a run.  McDonald added a power play marker at 4:43 on a bouncer from outside the dotted line.  The home squad then got into some penalty trouble and the visiting Adanacs scored 3 power play goals to even the score.  Brendan Murray connected at 8:42 followed by a pair of goals just 21 seconds apart by Marcelo Mannarino, the latter coming at 17:01 to complete first period scoring.  That made it even at 3 going into the middle frame.

The second period followed a similar script with the Shamrocks scoring twice to start, followied by the Adanacs replying with a pair.  Cohen Heavenor found twine first at 10:35, going to the net and Sam Strother opened up the 2-goal lead at 12:27, cutting in close.  Mannarino got the hat trick for Coquitlam at 17:25 and 25 seconds later Jaxon Dillon knotted the score at 5, sending the teams to the dressing room with nothing solved.

The teams traded goals near the mid-point of period 3, McDonald picking up his hat trick marker at the 8:18 mark from the dotted line and Coquitlam replying at 8:47.  The rest was all Shamrocks as they rattled off 3 straight goals to put the game out of reach.  The first two goas came in a span of just 1:34 at 9:16 and 10:50, both on hard shots from the dotted line.  Koen Block rounded out the scoring at 18:22 from right in front.

Victoria remains unbeaten with a record of 6-0 while the Adanacs drop to 4-2

The Rocks are in Burnaby Sunday, May 29 to take on the Lakers at 1:00 pm and return home to the Q Center at 7:30 on Tuesday, May 31 when the visitors will be the Nanaimo Timbermen.  At the time of this writing the T’Men are also unbeaten with a 4-0 record.
